Demon Hunter Mitsurugi (魔人ハンター ミツルギ Majin Hantā Mitsurugi) is a Japanese stop-motion tokusatsu kaiju series co-produced by International Television Films (a subsidiary of Toho) and Fuji TV which aired weekly from January 8 to March 26, 1973.The former's sole kaiju offering, the series uniquely shied away from suitmation; it instead pioneered "anicreation," a unique blend of stop-motion puppetry and more traditional tokusatsu techniques, such as miniature sets, pyrotechnics and optical effects. The series lasted just 12 episodes, concluding after a little over three months on the air.
