Director Kristen Lester’s film answers the question, “How much yarn does it take to yarn-bomb the Luxo Ball?”

Pixar has just released the first look and image from the short film Purl, directed by Kristen Lester, the second short in the studio's experimental shorts program they announced at SIGGRAPH last year.

In a tweet by Pixar production lead and short film producer David Lally, the team will share more about the film this August at the upcoming SIGGRAPH Conference in Vancouver.

According to a Lester tweet, “I’m so excited to share my short film Purl at SIGGRAPH! I’m grateful to everyone at Pixar who helped me tell this personal story and I’m proud to be a part of Pixar’s experimental shorts program!” Lally had teased the first film in the program, Smash and Grab, directed by Brian Larsen, which he is producing, in a previous tweet as well.
