J.J. Murphy is an independent filmmaker, a teacher and a writer. He has directed a few films (e.g. Print Generation) and is currently teaching classes in American Independent Cinema, Writing for Television and Film (Screenwriting), The Films of Andy Warhol and Advanced Film Production Workshop * at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

He also published, amoung many articles, two books on Cinema:
