One of the most popular beauties among the Finnish movie actresses of the 1930s and '40s, Regina Linnanheimo specialized in historical costume dramas and wild melodramas. She received the best actress Jussi award of 1946 for her roles in the films Restless Blood and The Cross of Love. Her original name was Axa Regina Elizabeth Linnanheimo. Her first speaking part as an actress was in 1934 and she moved on to leading roles in dramatized classics and historical melodramas during the WWII. With her huge eyes and dimples she supplied the big SF films with dazzling glamour, while in the films by the director Teuvo Tulio her roles pulsated sinful eroticism and portrayals of lunacy. After the war she almost exclusively performed in Teuvo Tulio productions. All in all she appeared in about 35 films. After she retired from the screen in 1956 she worked as a translator in the Finnish Broadcasting Company (as Regina Mörner). Linnanheimo died in January the 24th, 1995 in Helsinki.
